After presenting the pitch to the class, we were given feedback. We presented two different ideas, idea 1 and idea 2. We received a lot more feedback for the first idea however it wasn't constructive feedback but more questions about a number aspects of the idea. It seemed that the audience were unclear on certain aspects, they felt that we didn't fully explain how we would aim to reveal very little in the opening sequence. Also they felt that the target audience wasn't made fully clear, for example, we used words such as 'younger' and 'older' and this didn't clarify what age range we would aim our product at because people associate different ages with the terms younger and older. It also seemed that we were unclear on how the characters will be represented.
For idea 2, there was much less feedback and this showed us that the audience understood the whole idea a lot more than the first. There were only two questions asked, the first asked 'what perspective would you use in the opening sequence?'. We did not clearly include this in our pitch but we have now decided to use a first person perspective as we feel this would help to create tension, however we will also shoot from the perspective of the antagonist.
The second question was 'how do you introduce the narrative?'. This applied to both ideas and the audience felt that the antagonist and protagonist were not explained in enough detail. Another point that the audience picked up on was how we aimed to represent both genders, or if it will be just males that we are aiming to represent.
The audience felt that when explaining the sub genres and hybrid genres that we were planning to use, we could have used existing examples to help them understand understand more clearly. Also they felt that we needed to consider the locations we were going use and realise that there may be difficulties when filming in certain places, for example dark lighting.
